Ian Ajimine | Owner, Head Coach

Ian, the Co-Founder and Head Coach, is a Honolulu native and a former Army Ranger of the 75th Ranger Regiment. After nearly seven years in the army, Ian started and founded CrossFit HTF with Clarence Chee. Ian has his Personal Training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, as well as the following certifications: CrossFit L1, CrossFit Kettlebell course, Gymnastics course, Olympic Lifting course, Powerlifting course, Mobility course, and his Level 1 for TRX Suspension Trainers.


Clarence Chee | Co-Founder, Coach

Clarence is a Honolulu native and has the following certifications: CrossFit Level 1, kettlebell, gymnastics, and TRX suspension.


Allison Able | Coach

Allison is from Leawood, Kansas, where she attended the University of Kansas and was a member of the rowing team. She received her undergraduate degree in exercise science and her master’s degree in sports administration from Eastern Illinois University. During her time at EIU, she was the strength and conditioning coach for the men’s and women swim and tennis teams, the women’s volleyball team, and assisted the football strength staff. She moved to Hawaii in 2018 and joined CrossFit HTF because of its strength training emphasis. She is certified in USA weightlifting, a 200-hour yoga teacher certification, and yoga for sports performance.

Blaise Arita | Coach

Blaise started CrossFit in 2014 and enjoyed the all-encompassing aspect that the workouts provided. He has a master’s degree in electrical engineering which drives his mentality for an emphasis on technique and efficiency. Attentive to varying needs and goals of each athlete, Blaise strives to improve the performance of each individual both physically and mentally. In addition to helping others, Blaise enjoys competing in CrossFit competitions. He has represented CrossFit HTF in individual, partner, and team competitions that include local throw downs, weightlifting (<77kg) meets, and the Hawaii VA Games in both 2015 & 2016.

Ryan Burciaga | Coach

Ryan, a native of Aiea, Hawaii, attended Radford High School and was a NCAA D-1AA quarterback and safety at Mississippi Valley State University where he received his bachelor of science in biology. Ryan is attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa in fall 2017 and will be enrolled in the family nurse practitioner-doctorate program. Ryan was the former junior varsity coach at Radford High School where he led the team to two Division II championships. Ryan has his CrossFit Level 1 and mobility certifications. He plans to incorporate CrossFit as a plan for preventive health care when he obtains his doctorate.

Rhoda Castillo | Coach | Nutritionist

Rhoda, raised on Maui and now a resident of Honolulu, received her bachelor of science degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and has been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) since 2013. Rhoda was a former soccer player, track & field team member, cheerleader, and marathon runner. Looking for something other than the routine gym membership, Rhoda started at CrossFit HTF in 2013 after finding a Groupon deal that was too good to pass up. Since then she has been an enthusiastic HTF member and can be found at the box five to seven days a week working out or just hanging out. Rhoda is passionate about nutrition and fitness and loves encouraging others to find their balance in achieving their best quality of life.

Thomas Lee | Coach

Thomas, born and raised in Honolulu, attended Notre Dame before returning home to pursue his graduate studies; he received a Master’s Degree in public health and received a doctorate in epidemiology in 2017. Tired of the typical gym routine, Thomas began his CrossFit journey in 2011 to challenge himself physically, mentally, and experience the “cult” that’s often associated with a CrossFit box. Thomas enjoys helping others achieve their fitness goals and even convinced his parents and future in-laws to join HTF! In his free time, he enjoys working out, cheering on any Notre Dame team, and spending time with Jess, his fiancé, and their dog, Bella. Thomas has his Crossfit Level 1 and weightlifting trainer certifications.


Mario Quezada | Coach | Branding + Design

Mario hails from Monterey Park, California, and is the brains behind HTF’s branding and design. Mario was initially drawn into trying CrossFit after seeing a Groupon deal for HTF in 2013 and the rest is history. From getting his first muscle up, to a PR on his Snatch at 252lbs, to achieving 485lbs on the back squat, Mario has many proud CrossFit moments. He is also a partner in Shakas and Snatches (Hawaii's Fitness brand), creator of Viejo Strong (Masters athlete brand) and partner with Coach Ian in faith based CrossFit clothing company: Stronghold Gear.

When Mario’s not achieving new PRs or working on branding, he enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter Aila (#ChunqaWunqa), son Aiden (#Bubba) and family as well as teaching God’s word to young adults in Hawaii and around the world. Mario has his CrossFit Level 1 certification as well as his CPT from PTAG and is looking to pursue his USA Weightlifting and CrossFit Level 2 certifications. 


Rae Shih | Coach

Rae moved to Hawaii after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She was born in Naperville, IL and has the midwestern accent to match. She loves helping people move better. Rae started CrossFit in Jan 2010 and has since coached CrossFit or created a barbell program at CrossFit NOLA, CrossFit East Sacramento (Aquila Fitness), CrossFit Alpha Dog, Crossfit Rittenhouse, and now CrossFit HTF. She started coaching in late 2010, and holds CrossFit Level 1, USAW Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach, CrossFit Powerlifting, and CrossFit Football/Power Athlete certifications.

Rae competed at CrossFit Regionals in 2011 and 2012 as part of the CrossFit NOLA team. While in Sacramento, she started competing exclusively in weightlifting, lifting in over 35 meets since 2012, including the American Open, National Championships, University Nationals, and AO Series. She set the PA state record in the clean and jerk in fall 2014 and has coached dozens of lifters at local and national meets. Here in Hawaii, she won her weight class at the 2018 State Championships.

Noa Tuteur | Coach


Noa was raised on the east side of Oahu. He enjoys hiking, ocean sports, staying fit and active. He has his CrossFit Level 1 certification.

Mahina Komeiji | Events

Mahina Komeiji, born and raised in Honolulu, teaches English at Radford High School. She manages the special projects and events for CrossFit HTF. Mahina was tricked into CrossFit HTF during the Fundamentals Program and she stayed for the HTF community. Working out is Mahina's favorite thing to do, so you can usually find her (and her dog, Kenny) at HTF on early mornings, afternoons, and weekends.

Francis Choe | Operations & Communications


Francis, born and raised in Honolulu and a communications/public relations professional, is responsible for managing HTF’s operations and coordinating marketing/ communications on behalf of the box. Francis was initially drawn into CrossFit to try something other than the typical gym routine. Since his first Fundamentals Class, he was immediately drawn into HTF by the community and the people. Francis’ proudest moments include anytime he PRs but especially when he got his first muscle up.
